Selectmen's Minutes
January 14, 2008
Present: Steve Moscicki, Jim Trudell, Elaine Sherry, Donna Clark, Celine Presby
6:00 pm Chairman Moscicki called the meeting to order.
Manifests & Invoices:
Manifests for Dec 31st and Jan 14th were authorized and new invoices for future payment were reviewed and initialed.
Treasurer's Report:
The Treasurer's Report was read showing a balance of $38,092.94 in the checking account, $160,270.94 in the NHDIP fund, $46,175.85 in the Laconia Bank savings account and $485.89 in the Dodge Pond Preservation Fund.
Meeting Minutes:
Minutes for Jan 7th were reviewed. Sherry motioned to approve the minutes as written, 2nd by Moscicki, so voted all.
Correspondence:
- Legislative Bulletin #4 and the Jan 2008 Town & City Magazine were distributed to the Board.
- 2008 Report #1 was received from Councilor Burton.
- The Selectmen read a response from John & Terry Simpson to last week's e-mail.
- Sherry's e-mail to Rusty Bulis covering several topics that were discussed last week was reviewed.
Old Business:
- Clark will contact another electrician regarding the Town Hall generator's transfer switch.
- Both Sherry and Trudell will attend the Grants Conference at the State House in Concord on Jan 28th.
- A letter of thanks to Greg Placy of NH DOT was reviewed and signed.
- The Board will meet with Lisbon Selectmen on Jan 21st at 7:00 pm to discuss the 2008 fire support and recycling contracts. Lyman's regular Selectmen's meeting will be held from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm.
- The annual budget hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb 5th, at 7:00 pm.
- Work continued on the 2008 budget and warrant articles.
- Drafts of the Selectmen's Report and dedication page for the 2007 Annual Report were prepared.
New Business:
- Trudell presented information from the SAU. Lisbon Regional School's budget hearing is scheduled for Feb 18th and the annual meeting for March 19th. Last year the school board came to the Lyman Town Hall to present the budget to those who did not want to attend the actual hearing in Lisbon. The attendance was so low, the Selectmen do not feel it is worth doing again this year. There is one 3-year school board seat from Lyman open.
- The Selectmen reviewed and signed a Letter of Understanding from Plodzik & Sanderson regarding the scope of work included in the upcoming 2007 audit.
- The Board approved a request for a replacement street sign for Blue Jay Road.
- Sharon Sierra will work with Clark this week to make some changes to the town's website.
- The furnaces at the highway garage and Town Hall have been cleaned.
Sherry motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 pm, 2nd by Moscicki, so voted all.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, Jan 21st, at 5:30 pm.
