Selectmen's Minutes - Driveway Site Review

Selectmen Trudell and Sherry met with Planning Board Chairman Bruce Beane, Road Agent Tom Smith, and Richard & Bonnie Wheatley at 8:00 am at the Wheatley's property at 594 Skinny Ridge Road, Map 172 Lot 144.
This site visit was requested by Mr. Wheatley who addressed the Board of Selectmen June 15th regarding his recent driveway permit application. Tom Smith and Bruce Beane reviewed his proposed driveway location June 12th and found that it did not have the required 300' site distance for a 35 mph road in one direction and suggested the driveway be relocated by 100'. Mr. Wheatley was concerned that moving the driveway would interfere with his approved septic plan and building site.
After much discussion of the topography of the lot, its location on Skinny Ridge Road and the need to have the required site distance in both directions for safety reasons, it was agreed that the driveway permit application will be approved with the location 100+ ft from the corner of the property as suggested earlier by Beane and Smith.
