Selectmen's Minutes
November 16, 2009
Present: Jim Trudell, Elaine Sherry, Steve Moscicki, Donna Clark, Celine Presby
6:00 pm Chairman Trudell called the meeting to order.
Manifests & Invoices:
The manifests for Nov 16th and 17th were authorized and new invoices for future payment were reviewed and initialed.
Treasurer's Report:
The Treasurer's Report was read showing a balance of $101,462.72 in the WGSB checking account, $29,198.53 in the NHPDIP fund, and $6,292.13 in the Laconia Bank savings account. Moscicki motioned to approve the Treasurer's report as written, 2nd by Sherry, so voted all.
Committee Reports & Needs:
The Board approved closing the Town Offices at noon on Wednesday, Nov 25th.
Permits and Applications:
The following was approved:
- An Intent to Cut for Samuel Robinson for Map 234 Lot 001
Meeting Minutes:
Minutes for Nov 9th were reviewed. Moscicki motioned to approve the minutes as written, 2nd by Trudell, so voted all.
Correspondence:
- The Nov/Dec 2009 Town & City magazine, which included a good article on winter road maintenance, was distributed to the Board.
- An e-mail from John Simpson was read.
Audience Participation:
Deborah Fisher asked the Selectmen to consider using the tree outside the Grange Hall as a Memorial Tree. She suggested people donate $5 to purchase a light in memory of a friend or loved-one and that a tree-lighting ceremony be held with hot chocolate served and the names read aloud. The proceeds would be donated to a charity such as a local food pantry. The Board gave her permission to pursue the project.
Old Business:
- The Selectmen met with employees today to explain the changes in health insurance coverage for 2010.
- The final Local Emergency Operations Plan Committee meeting was also held today. Jane Hubbard of Hubbard Consulting will complete the two required emergency plans and submit them to the Town and State for review.
- Charles Hochmuth and Tom Smith will excavate material from under the front of the building and install a new cement pad in an effort to keep frost from heaving the handicapped entrance this winter.
- The Board prepared Tom Smith's 2-year review and will present it to him at next week's meeting.
Sherry motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 pm, 2nd by Trudell, so voted all.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov 23rd, at 6:00 pm.
