Selectmen's Minutes
March 8, 2010
Present: Elaine Sherry, Steve Moscicki, Donna Clark, Celine Presby
Absent: Jim Trudell
6:00 pm Acting Chairman Moscicki called the meeting to order.
The Selectmen helped the Moderator and Town Clerk set up the Town Hall for Tuesday's Town Meeting election.
Manifests & Invoices:
The manifest for Mar 8th was authorized and new invoices for future payment were reviewed and initialed.
Treasurer's Report:
The Treasurer's Report was read showing a balance of $91,361.86 in the WGSB checking account, $108,846.64 in the NHPDIP fund, and $6,295.31 in the Laconia Bank savings account. Moscicki motioned to approve the Treasurer's report as written, 2nd by Sherry, so voted all.
Committee/Department Reports & Needs:
Clark updated the Board on highway department issues on Tom Smith's behalf. Clark's Truck Center should have the parts in this week to build a replacement motor for the 10-wheeler, and road Weight Limit notices were posted March 3rd.
Permits and Applications:
The following were approved:
- Pistol Permit for Samuel Marsocci
- Pistol Permit for William Taxter
Meeting Minutes:
Minutes for Mar 1st were reviewed. Sherry motioned to approve the minutes as written, 2nd by Moscicki, so voted all.
Correspondence:
- Legislative Bulletin #11, the Municipalis Winter 2010 newsletter which included articles on Town Meeting topics, and the March 2010 North Country Council Points North Bulletin which confirmed NCIC Wireless Linc's commitment to have high speed internet access in Lyman by the end of the year were distributed to the Board.
- The Grafton County Senior Citizens Council Winter 2010 newsletter and Grafton County Conservation District 2009 Annual Report were received.
- Raymond Burton's Executive Council Report #5 outlining helpful items that are available from his office, and an e-mail from David Simpson regarding Lyman real estate values and alternative energy were reviewed.
Old Business:
Celine Presby advised that Dodge Pond Family & Friends Day, scheduled for Mar 13th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, will be held on or near Scott Hood's property on Dodge Pond Road if the ice on the pond isn't safe.
New Business:
- One 2009 property tax abatement application was received as of the Mar 1st filing deadline.
- The Board signed a deed to transfer ownership of a Hurd Hill Road property taken by tax deed in 2009 back to its original owners.
Sherry motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 pm, 2nd by Moscicki, so voted all.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, Mar 15th, at 6:00 pm.
